"Do not worry, I will take care of you."
-Love, God

Luke 12:22-31

22Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well."

If God has enough care and attention for the little things of the world like birds and flowers, He definitely has enough care and attention for you and your needs. Put your worry aside and do not fret about things you cannot control. Control is an illusion. God has taken care of everything.

"I will protect you and keep you safe."
-Love, God

Psalm 3:3

"But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head."

David knew that God's protection would save him from his enemies who were trying to destroy him. As he prayed to and praised God, he was scared but he also knew deep down that God loved him and would not let his enemies defeat him. God protected David then as He protects you today. The hardest part is to trust in your faith that God will keep his promise of protection.

"I am here. I have not forgotten you."
-Love, God

Psalm 9:18

"But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish."

I am reminded about the "Footprints" poem by Mary Stevenson when I realize that God has not forgotten me:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

It is in our most trying times when we cry out to God out of hopelessness, thinking He has left us. But He is already there - He never left.

"I will always hold you."
-Love, God

Colossians 1:17

"He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

Isn't it amazing that when we feel like everything is falling apart, God still holds us together? I came across a mind-blowing video on YouTube about a protein in the human body called laminin. The video is a little long, but the message speaks for itself.

"You are precious to me."
-Love, God

Genesis 9:12-16

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

Rainbows show us how precious we are to God. He loves us and made this promise to Noah after the flood to prove His love. So the next time you look up in the sky and spot a rainbow, remember how much God loves you.
